A timeline of Rupertland History

Year Event
~460 Alfred I, Captain-at-sea discovers and conquers Rupert Island (Weseopia). He brings with him an early form of the English language. Alfred I and his group of ~100 people are in exile from Scotland, Wales, England, Ireland, and Northern France. Over the next 100 years, over 20,000 people will be sent from Western Europe to Weseopia in exile. With them comes news from the regions and the development of the English language. These people are early Christians.
~480 Cedric the Conqueror takes the entirety of Weseopia from the Inuit, extincting them from the island.
500 Grand Wye (Rupertland City) reaches a population of 2,000 people (Mostly in Lincoln).
563 Henry I the Great kills his father, the previous holder of the throne (unknown) and takes the crown
~570 Construction of the first palace ends: the Palace of Glorious Alfred.
600 Henry I unveils his plan to build the agricultural output of rural Rupertland to support city dwellers; increases taxes on city dwellers; builds the city of Apollo and expands the City of Wyedon (Pompeii). He becomes one of the most popular Kings in Weseopian times.
610 Weseopia's population surpasses 100,000.
~700 Henry II expands the City of Lincoln. Grand Wye stabilises its population at 10,000 (where it would roughly remain until Rupert's Reforms).
720 First Queen takes the throne as the daughter of Henry II. Name has been lost to history.
732 La Vistaianique (Emileville) separates from Apollo. Apollo has evolved into a leftist, anti-monarchist city of "enlightenment" and English. La Vistaianique at the time was conservative and pro-monarchist and French.
754 Alfred II declares war on the Apolloites (an intellectual group of roughly 2,000) who wished to establish democracy. The War kills 1,000 people and consolidates Alfred II's power, and the power centre of Grand Wye (Tensions had been developing in the growing cities of Apollo, Ips, Landsmouth, Little Wye, and La Vistaianique (Emileville)). The King's Army now has 2,000 troops.
789 Monarch Committee gives the throne to Christopher the Bastard after the death of Alfred II. Christopher is very liberal, and is widely known to be a bastard and suspected of homosexuality. His rule disillusions many Weseopians with the Monarch, and leads to a growing movement behind the House of Æthel, a bourgeoise house only slightly distanced from Alfred I's bloodline, led by 'King' Æthel I. A democratic movement (Mouvement Cleisthenes) is also reignited in Landsmouth, Apollo and La Vistaianique (Emileville) (these cities are soon called the Greek Trio for their academic superiority).
826 The War of Annuality begins after an attack on the fortifications of Grand Wye and the Palace of Glorious Alfred by the House of Æthel (led by King Æthel II).
827 Battle of Paris leads to the deaths of 1,500, and is the most deadly day since Weseopia was founded.
829 Apollo falls to the Mouvement Cleisthenes in February. The King's Army retakes the city in June.
830 Ips falls to the House of Æthel in March.
831 The Far North falls to Æthel and is not retaken until 845.
832 Apollo and La Vistanique fall to the House of Æthel
833 The Far South falls to the House of Æthel
834 Westampton falls to Æthel. King Æthel II is killed in combat and his 13-year old son King Æthelwulf.
835 Westland County falls to the House of Æthel.
836 The House of Æthel captures all of Weseopia except for Grand Wye, where they have been in battle since 833.
837 King Christopher is killed by an assassin hired by Æthelwulf. Alfred III (who is a legitimate child of Alfred II) takes the throne. He is an excellent war-leader and slowly takes back the areas surrounding Grand Wye.
841 King Alfred III takes back 90% of Weseopia's population, including Apollo and La Vistaianique. He makes Ruberta (Alfredton at the time) the capital of Emileland (then called the Harbourlands).
900 Population of Weseopia reaches 400,000. Apollo (the largest city in Weseopia) holds 35,000, La Vistaianique holds 25,000. While Grand Wye holds 10,000, the area surrounding Grand Wye holds 50,000 in low densities. Landsmouth holds 5,000; Ips holds 7,000; Little Wye holds 2,000.
925 House of Æthel re-gathers strength, and is stronger than it was in 830.
966 House of Æthel is given its new leader; Peter I is born. Popularity of current King Alfred IV is low.
983 Peter I makes an alliance with Apollo and La Vistaianique to allow free speech and a democratic house system to be established if they fight for him in an upcoming war.
988 Peter I begins the War of the Wye. This war takes place almost exclusively along the River Wye, especially in Grand Wye and Landsmouth.
990 Peter I has essentially taken all of Weseopia except Grand Wye's South-of-the-Wye area. Alfred IV is nearly killed in an assassination attempt.
991-992 Peter I takes all of Weseopia except for the Palace of Glorious Alfred. Alfred IV walks out of his palace around 20-30 December 991 after two months of isolation in his home. By 992, Peter I becomes King of Weseopia. Alfred IV is put up in the Winter Palace in Crawley (south of Ips) and is poisoned in May 992.
994 Millennium Plan: Builds the Peter Block (currently located inside of the Lave Residence) as the new Palace for the reigning King/Queen.
1032 King Peter I dies of a series of strokes over two years. His only legitimate son, three years old, is deemed unfit for the throne until he reaches age fifteen. Undisputedly, Blois I (Peter I's closest relative) takes the throne.
1044 Alfred V, Peter I's son is fifteen. Blois I refuses to hand over the throne to an "incompetent little freak." The War of the Freaks begins at this time, as Blois I moves to the Winter Palace in Little Wye to control the Kingdom, relatively successfully.
1051 Blois I is murdered without any legitimate children during the Siege of the Winter Palace. His line does not fight for the throne any further. Alfred V continues to rule until 1098.
1130s Peter II begins planning the Gardens of the King. The Palace of the Island Children (Lave Residence) is built around the Peter Block.
1173 Peter II dies, Queen Mariliselle takes the throne; she is later recognized as one of the greatest monarchs of Rupertland History
1175 Mariliselle's Reforms introduces a renewed funding budget for infrastructure, healthcare, research, the arts, and more. Funding for Royal families stagnated, to the anger of the royal family.
1189 Mariliselle unveils plans for the first borough of Grand Wye North-of-the-Wye: Soho.
1201 Equal Rights enshrined into constitution for men and women by Mariliselle.
1202 Mariliselle is killed by an misogynistic assassin Francis Belle; King Edgar does not execute Belle, but sentences him to two years in prison. Edgar amends the constitution to revoke equal rights.
1211 Edgar increases taxes and allocates the complete increase to the Royal Family. This lead to a rapid decrease in the popularity of the monarch.
1220 Mouvement Cleisthenes (Pro-Democracy) slowly rebuilds as a result of Edgar's unpopularity. The Movement
1250 Weseopia population reaches 2,000,000. Apollo-La Vistaianique is the centre of Weseopian life with 110,000 people in Apollo and 130,000 in La Vistaianique. Grand Wye is stable at 13,000.
1254 Alfred VI further increase taxes to renovate the twelve royal palaces and build 50 castles for family and nobility.
1255 Alfred VI makes Ruberta the capital of the Harbourlands (now Emileland).
